Indoor Plant Problems - Brown Leaf Tips

Many houseplants begin to turn brown on the tips and eventually die and the one of the key problems could be due to the mineral salts found in most municipal water supplies.  Salts are harmful for plants and as soon as a plant absorbs salts though its roots, it tries to store the salts as far from its vital organs as possible.  That place is in the tips of the leaves.  To correct this problem, periodically flush the roots and potting mix with filtered water.  Even better, leave your plants outside during a few warm summertime gentle rain showers.  (Do not leave out in high winds)  They will appreciate the opportunity to have their roots zones flushed and they’ll show it!
